The Candy Girl

Environmental portrait for my senior show at West Virginia State University.

My models, Paryss and Zane, are brother and sister and live down the street from me. I am friends with their mother, Sidney, and father, Ryan.

Sidney posted a picture of Paryss’s halloween costume (the one she is wearing in this picture) and I thought it would be great for a photo outside of our local theater.

I wasn’t really sure what exactly I was going for with this picture. It was for a school project in my advanced photography class.

The teacher of the class, who was also my advisor, observed that it was a “Rockwellian-styled” image. In the style of Norman Rockwell.

I loved it! So that became the theme for my senior show, photography in the style of Norman Rockwell.
